-My understanding is that the genesis of Seska’s plans with the baby came out of the fact that when they decided to bring Seska back Martha Hackett was pregnant, so they worked it in.
On Culleh being so angered by Chalotay’s putative rape of Seska, I think historically lots of fundamentally sexist societies have been really protective of female chastity, not because they care so much about women, but because they see rape as a transgression against the woman’s husband. That said, Cullah seems like he’s not as typically chauvinist as most Kazon. I haven’t seen the episodes as recently as you guys, but he is mostly solicitous of Seska and does what she suggests unless the other Kazon are around to tease him, and then he belts her. I continue to like the Seska scenes simply because they do an interesting job showing her navigating this society and seeing what she can get away with (which is a lot, but not as much as she wants).
