After the debacle of “Q-Less”, you can forgive Richard for being skeptical about a DS9 episode featuring Lwaxana Troi, but “The Forsaken” is surprisingly touching. Later, in “Dramatis Personae”, something happens, but we don’t know what, because we fell asleep. Also! What is Barclay up to?

-Hi Guys,
I really enjoy "The Forsaken" mainly for the scene in the elevator between Odo and Lwaxana. We’ve had to put up with her over the top antics for many seasons and finally her inner self is revealed much to her embarrassment. The fact that is was purely to help out someone she’d only just met and like her was living behind a facade. It was a beautiful scene, Rene and Majel delivered with the emotion and empathy the writing demanded.

-Yeah, Lwaxana is a character that really grew on me on my rewatch of TNG for the podcast, and I’m glad that DS9 used her in such a great way.

-Since I just wrote a very critical comment about another episode, I just thought I’d add something positive here – that I really do agree about Lwaxana. She starts out annoying, but they do give her some very good episodes, this being one of them, and she ends up being someone you really care about.
